We believe that all art is functional, as every image impacts on the viewer’s perception of the world.

In a world of mass production, we believe that having a unique piece or item is essential as it is a tangible representation of each person’s individuality. Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.  Every piece that we make, whether it is a simple canvas or a functional piece of art such as a lamp, is unique and handcrafted.

Clutter Fly was created by Marcel Wicht and Liesl Strauss.

With a background in engineering, Marcel focuses on design and problem solving. He ensures that every piece of functional artwork is in perfect working order. As engineering is the professional art of applying science to the optimum conversion of natural resources so as to improve the general standard of living for individuals, Marcel has been working on “art” for most of his life. He ensures that any figment of imagination can emerge, through the aid of science, to a plan and the consequent realisation in stone, metal or energy. An avid photographer, Marcel captures everyday images in a creative way so as to show the “ordinary” in an extra ordinary way, bringing attention to beauty that is already there.

Liesl Strauss has been passionate about art from a very young age and has always been painting, drawing or doing some form of art. Her focus is on the outward appearance of each item.
